Key Responsibilities< strong>
- Performs various duties and activities related to safe working practices and procedures.< li>
- Responds to all emergencies in the port and renders assistance. Responds as an Emergency Team member in cases of< li>< ul> accident fire oils spill or other incidents in the port or surrounding area.
- Performs various duties and activities related to safety responsibilities for the port.< li>
- Conducts safety inspections of work areas advising supervisory personnel of observed safety hazards violation of safety< li>< ul> rules and prepares safety inspection reports for the head of department.
- Advises supervisory personnel of appropriate personal protective equipment for workers.< li>
- Investigates work related injuries following trends conducting thorough investigations and recommending various< li>< ul> solutions including better communications training modifications to work methods or equipment.
- Assists with training instruction for company personnel in health safety related areas.< li>
- Chairs the preliminary investigations of accidents.< li>< ul>
Who we are looking for< strong>
- Requires completion of college degree in engineering science environmental science or related discipline.< li>
- Requires Safety Specialist certificate from NIOSH institute.< li>
- Requires at least five years of safety and fire fighting experience.< li>
- Requires an understanding of work injuries the investigation process to determine cause Requires full understanding of local safety laws and regulations.< li>
- Must be physically fit meeting rigorous medical standards and the ability to wear breathing apparatus.< li>
- Requires the ability to communicate both in English amp the local language.< li>
- Requires good problem solving skills with an ability to define the problem and this must be done at times immediately under stress.< li>
- Requires certification in First Aid and CPR have good knowledge Occupational Health supervision .< li>< ul>
