The purpose of the role is to prepare a realistic and competitive estimate of the cost of labour and material required for the project in order to enable company to win the tender
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare the comprehensive tender bid complete all aspects of pricing submissions finalize all estimate and tendering aspects relevant to the project implementation in the region.
• Assist the Chief Estimator during post tender review clarification with clients so as to arrive at a tangible decision on tenders with a view to obtain the job with maximum mark ups and profits.
• Identify and submit value engineered options for every tender in order to improve the chances to win the tender.
• Prepare upon award of the project a summary of the job including cost of labour material quantity and quality of the material required strictly as per the specification of the client to ensure that they are as per the prescribed parameters.
• Update construction cost database to order and track purchased materials labour and supplies needed for projects and monitors reviews and oversees contracts submitting bids that determine cost and stated duration of project.
• Updates unit rates material cost databases labour and construction equipment rates to keep them current and prepares construction estimates for Job Change Notices JCN .
• Handover complete tender job package in a timely manner thereby enabling efficient takeover by the project team.
• Assist Chief Estimator in implementing strategies and plans to ensure that estimating process takes place in most professional and cost effective manner in coordination with Quantity Surveying department.
• Ensure all documents relating to tenders client queries RFIs etc are filed and maintained in line with defined guidelines
• Prepare estimates for any variance in labour and material cost arising out of a change in the drawing proposed by the client. Provide the same to the Quantity Surveyor to obtain the client consultant’s approval.
• Assist Estimating Manager in drafting a final report on pre and post completion cost so as to enable the management to assess the profitability on the job
The successful candidate must fulfil the following criteria Must have a relevant Quantity Surveying Estimating Must have a minimum of exp of 6 10 years experience. Experience in Fit out Finishes is essential
